Coffee, which was discovered after tea comes in the first place as a source of caffeine. The Arabian legend that marks the discovery of coffee is rather interesting. It shows coffee’s effect on not only human but also animals. “Legend says that shepherds at a monastery in Arabia surprised to find their goats jumping around and playing late at night, when they should be asleep. The shepherds found that the goats had eaten berries from coffee plants… later the monks figured out how to brew the beans into coffee and gets the same effect. This incident triggered the born of the coffee drink, which was originally called qahwah in Arabic.
The rest is where we are at today, the production of caffeine pills and the inserting of caffeine into everyday drinks has become part of today’s economical industry. Caffeine is the most used drug in the world. It is used medically and non-medically. It is a psychoactive drug; a drug that is used to alter mood and behavior. Caffeine falls in the same category as nicotine and alcohol.
